Some Stories Are Just Heart Breaking
The Michael Vick case is one of the stories many of you are familiar with. Most of the people I know were either outraged or heart broken. Personally, I was outraged. I was outraged at Vick's actions and for his lack of respect for life.
What most people don't know, is that there are many similar cases of helpless dogs being mistreated all over the country. And it is heart breaking. I don't know how those kinds of people end up with pets or why they even got a dog in the first place only to make the lives of their once "cute puppy" a living hell.
Forgotten and miserable. When I look into those eyes of the forgotten, I always end up with a broken heart and angry at the people who don't understand love or friendship. I see their love, hope, joy, and their disappointment. How many times have we loved someone only to be tossed aside? Some of the pets are enduring worse than being tossed aside. That's because they're literally tossed aside or outside to live alone, sometimes enduring intense temperature with no food or water or even shelter. They are left chained outside to live miserably and to die in misery.
I encourage you to stop this unnecessary cruelty. If you know of a pet being mistreated, please do something about it. Don't walk away.
Read the story here about Doogie.
He was chained outside by his owners without food or water out in the torturous cold. Doogie was at the brink of death. He was laying on the mud, unable to greet his concerned visitors. He was barely conscious but still wagged his tail knowing that someone is by his side. He was intentionally neglected by his owners and by a humane officer who clearly needs to look at where he should stand in this world.
